For Parents & Teachers
Country Detective is a free geography game. Children read clues, one at a time, and work out which country it is: a culture fact, its place on a spinning globe, its flag, capital, currency and size.

What children learn
- Where countries are. The globe flies to each country and names its neighbours, so children build a mental map.
- How people live. Festivals, foods, music and traditions. Every culture clue was checked against sources such as UNESCO and Wikipedia.
- Flags, capitals and currencies. Each answer opens a short country card with links to read more.
- Reasoning. Fewer clues earn more points, so children learn to weigh what they already know.
Safe by design
- No ads and nothing to buy.
- No chat or messages between players.
- Playing needs no account. Nothing about a child is saved on our server unless an account is created.
- Accounts are for ages 13+ or with a parent's permission, and can be deleted in the game at any time.
- The ranking shows nicknames only. Google sign-in names are partly hidden.

Using it in class
- Warm-up (5 minutes). Put the game on the board and let the class call out guesses after each clue.
- Team challenge. Split into teams; each team plays one country and keeps the points. Each team has three hearts.
- Explore the globe. Drag the globe and tap a country to make it the next question. Try a continent you are studying.
- Country cards. After each answer, read the country card together and follow a link for a mini research task.
Playing at home
- Play together: take turns reading the clues aloud.
- Ask "how did you know?" after a correct guess.
- Kids who want to track their scores can use an account with a parent's permission. Please help them choose a made-up nickname.
